Zen Quote 111618

Here in our widdle corner of the Pacific Northwest – we live among the Trees – some of the houses in our small Community coming to rest a few feet from the base of a fir tree.

 Every day I do forest bathing among those trees – it’s so soothing and restful and keeps me balanced in this hectic World we live in today.

To The Trees!  as Pete Nelson will say!!!

The Pine Forest Is My Home
My house is not an ornate building,
the pine forest is my home.
Life passes in an instant,
don’t say the myriad things are far away.
If you don’t make a raft to cross over,
you’ll drift and sink just plucking flowers.
If you don’t plant wholesome roots now,
when will you ever see them sprout?

And while on the topic of quotes – who could forget the words of John of The Cross:

When you looked at me
Your eyes imprinted your grace in me;
For this you loved me ardently;
And thus my eyes deserved
To adore what they behold in you.
. . . And let us go forth to behold ourselves in your beauty.
John of the Cross

This came in one of my emails today.

Love love love love love

And love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside.     [Lin-Manuel Miranda]

The day will come when, after harnessing space, winds, the tide and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And, on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, [humanity] will have discovered fire. —Teilhard de Chardin

Methinks most of us have these goals in mind each day.  I know that I do.

Some days are better than others, though.

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

― Maya Angelou

I totally resonate with this quote – I firmly believe that it is important to forgive – and I speak from personal experience.   🙂

“Forgive all who have offended you, not for them, but for yourself.”
